Liam has been AMAZING all season long. He has finished top 5 every race his podiums are not that shabby either (5). As we line up to the gate for the 6th race in the series, the points leader by 10 points is no where to be found. All the parents noticed. One parent looked at me with a grin from ear to ear and said, "this is great!". My response to this persons apparent happiness was, "it's too bad, he loves to race. I hope everything is alright".
Hurricane Irene hit the state of NH the week of this race, area flooding was terrible and a small tornado hit the Canaan, NH area. A few main roads were washed out and the town the current points leader lives in was also impacted. The race went on without a hitch and Liam did great, when he kept his bike on 2 wheels. When he came off the track after the first 2 motos we asked him what was going on. We asked if the bike was alright and he said it was fine, we then asked what was going on with the bike and not having control over the jumps. He said "I was practicing my Bubba scrub" we asked a second time and his reply was "What? I have to do my Bubba scrub to be cool and go faster". My husband and I explained that he was here to race and not practice. He can practice on non-race days and even then on a limited bases.
KIDS...they are so innocent. Liam just loves to ride his dirtbike and we hope that his friend and his family are well.
